For our clients with pets that require special medical care such as routine medications or treatments or who have elderly pets, Society Hill Veterinary Hospital offers medical and senior care boarding. Our modestly priced boarding service allows pet owners with pets that have special needs the ability to travel for work or on family vacations without worrying if your pet is being properly cared for.
Our medical staff will routinely check in on your pet three times each day during our business hours of 10 am to 5 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. If your pet requires medication, he or she will be checked in on by a veterinary nurse to ensure that they are receiving their medication in the proper amount and at the proper time. Additionally, we exercise all dogs two to three times each day.
Accommodations include toys, blankets and towels for each guest’s comfort, as well as hiding boxes for our feline companions. We offer Hills Science Diet meals one to three times per day as requested upon check-in. We also encourage pet owners to bring premeasured meals for their pet in order to reduce the chance of stomach upset.
We require each pet to be up to date on their vaccinations. For dogs, we require rabies, distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough). For cats we require rabies, distemper, and proof of a negative feline leukemia test. We also require that you make a reservation for your pet’s stay. For pets that must receive medication, we ask that each medication be provided in its original container with the prescription label visible as well as dosing instructions.
Additionally, we offer one free day for every ten days of boarding.
